Gaylords, I have these movies on my comp which bf kindly put on when he last overhauled my comp. Problem is that they take heeeeeaaaaps of space and my comp now keeps giving me "insufficient disk space" notices. Pleh.
Funny that. He's a real movie person, but for me, I'd rather do something productive. Like advance myself in Kingdom Hearts (if you call that productive), or sew my bag (I screwed up the patch I was sewing on last last night...GRRR. To unpick or not unpick...). Not that I don't like watching movies. But...I dunno, usually I watch them if and (usually) only if I really want to see it and secondly if I'm watching it with someone so I can share the experience with them. Not big on sitting in front of my comp watching them by myself...but I can't delete them cos he put them on for me. Hrumph.
Yesterday I was reading Gone With the Wind and was really quite depressed after reading it. I don't think there are many more things sadder or more tragic than unrequited love. And GWTW is full of it. It's just the whole concept of someone having their heart on a silver platter for the other person, and that person spilling the platter and grinding your heart in the dirt as they walk away from you...and having offered them perhaps the most precious gift you can and then having it rejected. And then knowing that if they've rejected that...well, there's not much more you can do to win them over. The sheer hopelessness of the situation sucks. Thank God Alexandra Ripley wrote the sequel and tidied up the loose ends! Grrr. Friggin Ashley. How depressing that the central msg of GWTW is actually "True love is in fact very very capable of dieing".
*Harry Potter 5 Spoiler ahead!*
So after I read that, I started reading the new Harry Potter to cheer myself up. But I ended up reading for about 3.5 hours and was even sadder at the end of it because Sirius dies. =(. Horrible horrible. It's so unfair...even though Harry is a bit of a git in it, he still deserves to have parents. Or parent figures. Lupin's not the same! Neither are Dumbledore or the Weasleys. I betcha the producers of the HP movies are glad the guy who played Dumbledore died, because I can't see him summoning up a skerrick of acting that could be described as "powerful", and that's certainly what he is at the end against Voldemort. Too old and doddery that other guy. Not that the HP movies have been bril anyway!
*Spoiler's over, you can start reading again!*
And on top of all this, I'm supposed to be studying for IMM. Gaylords, gaylords.
I had a very angsty blog all ready to post up yesterday but i lost it! So you're off the hook....hehehe.
