Greetings one and all,

Just thinking about my job at the jewellery store. It's funny, the boss is back from his travels and he came into the store yesterday and all the managers were practically leaping to his commands as he adjusted things (or rather, got them to adjust things) around the store. We got this whole heap of new stock in of these fat stone necklaces and these funny antique-y ones and they were discussing where to put them as if it was THE most important thing in the world. Like, HELLO?? Some perspective here??

Humbug. I just wish we knew everyone's true motivations for war. I wish we knew the whole story. Then it would be SO much easier to figure out where I stand on this issue! I think I said it a while ago that if John Howard just said to Australia "Look, we have to support the USA just in case someone attacks us and we need their support." then at least we could understand why. But now, it looks so arbitrary. This whole situation is so political! And it's all the more so because there's no clearly defined rights and wrongs. E.g. Hitler killing millions of Jews and invading other people's countries = wrong. Other countries stepping in to help = right. But here...Pre-emptively targetting a country with suspected terrorist links = ??? Too grey.

Plah. State elections are on tomorrow. I dislike all parties. Plah. Go the three-day weekend party!
