NOTE: DAWSON'S CREEK SERIES FINALE SPOILERS AHEAD

*sob* I just finished watching the series final of Dawson's....*sob*

Actually, if you must know the truth, I think I spoiled it for myself by reading the review of it online when it aired in the US, in terms of the fact that I was ready and bracing myself not to cry (I almost cried when I was reading it back then!) when Jen died. So sad! (It was the music I tells ya- DC producers always manage to pick very moment-appropriate music, have you noticed? Both soundtrack albums really evoke the atmosphere of the show...anyway.)

I thought the whole Jack/Doug thing was totally unneccesary (in fact, I was very tempted to fast-forward through their bits). I just didn't have any connection with that story line. The other lines were all wrapping things up (silly love triangle & Jen's death), and I suppose they were trying to wrap up the Jack-belonging-with-another-gay-guy story, but they focussed too much on Doug. And no one cares about Doug. Plah. (O, btw, how incongruous was Jen's dying wish to Jack for her daughter , and the actual action of giving her to Jack?? Geez...if she wanted her daughter to have a place to belong, being the adopted daughter of a gay couple in a small country town would probably not do the trick....hello???)

Did anyone else find the random mentions of Andie (2 I counted: Joey to Pacey when she mentions all the "non-cosmetically altered" girls who have loved him and Joey commenting on friends who've made an impact on her life)...just that, TOTALLY RANDOM??

I admit that I cringed EVERYTIME anyone said "soulmate" (how dated is that expression?? SO 2000!). Furthermore, I felt that the writer's attempt to keep bringing poor P/J/D back into "the triangle" was very laboured...(o, speaking of laboured things, did anyone watch the 3rd last episode [aired on Monday], where the directors went in with the SLEDGEHAMMER at the very end- just in case stupid viewers didn't know, that's the Eiffel Tower in the background! I wonder where Joey is....FRANCE! MY GOSH SHE'S IN FRANCE! *lightbulb ding* Eh...NO SUBTLETY!). And for all the labouring they put them (and us!) through, I felt the resolution was pretty weak...they should have gone in with the sledgehammer there...a drawn-out "I love you Joey!/I love you Pacey!/Screw Dawson, it's you I want!/Let's run away and get married!" would not have been excessive after everything. O well.
