Hello all!
I'm finally updating after more than a week, so if you're still checking, I hope to reward your patience with an interesting read. Or perhaps just a long one. Hm.
I'll try and go through things chronologically, for the benefit of those who said that they'd check my blog to read about events involving themselves! But, if I can just qualify my writing here- it's really hard to write about things in a non-perfunctory way if the moment has passed...you have been warned!
Trip to The Entrance
I went away to The Entrance with my group of school friends last week from Tuesday to Friday and had a really good time. It's funny, I was telling Andy the other day that when you're just about to finish school, you're pretty neutral about whether you'll keep in touch with your school friends or not- however, there's just something about spending six years together (sometimes more!) in close proximity that forges a special bond between you- I can safely say that no one knows me *quite* like my school friends, and I was so glad to get away with them and just be stupid, random and 'inane' with them!
The trip didn't exactly begin on that fortuitous a note, what with Jo and I stuck in KFC for about 20 mins until it closed, and then turned on to the clean streets of The Entrance because Shanna, Sop and Rima- possessors of the keys to the apartment- had gotton lost. Funnily we ended up listening to my Christina (do you think I should spell it Xtina??) CD through Jo's discman with the front seats in the car all the way down til they arrived.
Living together for a few days, I was kinda struck by how domestic I've become in comparison to everyone...I think I'm becoming my mother (help). Maybe it's because I've just had to do more stuff because no one's really been at home for the past 4 or so months...hmmm.
But yeah- had lots of fun- I think I'm deprived of girly chats generally. We stayed up to the wee hours of the morning discussing various topics such as Mark Latham and how he'll do as Labor leader, various guys (Andrew Morrison?? Hahahaha) or just paying each other out =) hee. Jo also found time to plan my Australian Idol 2 campaign- way too seriously in my opinion!
For some reason, in the last 2 weeks and this week, we will/have see/n (pick your tense) so much more of each other than we have in the past 2 years (!), it's a shame that Jo and Shanna are heading off to their respective destinations cos I really think we were getting into a good groove. O well!
Stupid Enrollment Issues
Argh, stupid law school totally screwed my on-line enrollment, resulting in my mad scrambling to salvage a decent timetable. There is NO WAY I am going in 4 days- I would rather do Summer/Winter school. First they gave me the wrong enrollment date because they hadn't put up my property mark (which, now that I know what it is, I'm absolutely stoked about!) so I had to call them to give me access to the system. THEN I couldn't enrol in BA1 (one of the core courses), which meant that I couldn't enrol in session 2 because I hadn't completed that course. So I had to call them again. THEN after that was fixed I couldn't enrol in Litigation 2 and had to call them AGAIN. So ridiculous- esp since no one else had the latter 2 problems!!!!
So yeah, angling for a good timetable still...see what happens. Fingers crossed that Litigation 11-1 class is still open on the 22nd December!
Survivor Finale
I was glad Sandra won against Lill. There is NO WAY Lill would deserve it!
How weird was the reunion show...it ended so abruptly!
I was going for Jon in the final 3....ergh!
Sop's Surprise 21st Dinner
Absolutely hilarious. When I arrived at the place, only Rima and Jo had arrived, so we were awkwardly sitting there wondering if our presence was going to spoil the surprise. So when Sop and family arrived, she was kind of bemused, but we were laughing our heads off- I don't quite remember why. There may not have been a reason. Hm!
But when everyone else arrived, it was so funny...Jo was yelling at the top of her lungs about women in the church, attracting the attention of one very abrasive chick whose attention she was supposed to be avoiding....random comments were being made...I guess it was entertaining! Sop's dad was so funny- he was so cute and enthusiastic about everything and whenever he'd come over to see how we were going, I couldn't help but laugh. Hee.
After that there was surprise number 2, when we all (unbeknownst to Sop) would miraculously be at her house for cake and further celebrations (sooo funny, at the conclusion of the dinner, Sop's dad was hurrying her home and laying it on soooooo thick, e.g. "O, don't worry Soph, you'll get to see your friends again!" and "Isn't it a shame you won't get to talk to them longer!" hee). When I arrived with Rima and Jo, we thought we arrived after Sop and didn't want to ruin the surprise, so we hid behind a tree in the dark until Sop's dad appeared asking "Are you going to come in now?" hehehe.
Sop was incredibly shocked (in part due to her dad feigning drunkenness...I told you it was hilarious!) when we sprung the surprise...hehehee. So we sang, and I got to cut the cake...which in itself was not a huge deal- but the previously mentioned abrasive girl was sitting there holding the cake server (brandishing it around??) and giving me random bits of advice as to how I should cut the cake. What the?? ANAL!! ANAL!! But yeah, got over that. She reminds me of Jess (infamous organiser of my 21st *grr*). We should get them together, it would be interesting. (I think they'd irritate the pants off each other, it'd be funny!)
THEN, randomly....so randomly, we ended up with Sop going around the circle and affirming us individually...soo, soooo random!! But again, Sop's dad was really into it, and whenever he'd murmur appreciatively, I'd do my best to stop cracking up. Somehow I think that Jo, Rima and I became the night's sideshow (when Sop's little cousin had exitted of course!), with ther church friends (even Roz) looking on in bemusement. Hee. Definitely a story for her 22nd!
So yeah, that's what I've been up to in the interim...my sister is at home now (came home yesterday), whoohoooo! Very nice not to have to keep going to hospitals now....yay! Good to have her home.
Ok, I'm going to have a nap...
ciao! xxoo
