Hi all,

I just finished watching Dr Phil over my afternoon tea. It was about teens and sex and was absolutely appalling...I cried. It was terrible.

They showed all these kids- young kids who weren't more than 16- talking about their sexual experiences (to Dr Phil's son!). They talked to the guys and girls separately...argh! The guys were like absolute SWINE- if you can think of the worst stereotype of young egotistical males with sex on the brain with hardly any respect for women, they were it. And the girls...they were what made me cry. It was awful. They were talking about how they felt after they had sex: used, violated, cheap, slutty...how they wouldn't have done it in hindsight. One girl was saying that she thought it would make her relationship so much better, that after it, they would be so much more in love- but that it didn't turn out that way. She was warning other young girls not to give themselves away so cheaply, that their bodies and their selves were much too valuable.

O God...they were so young. It's heartbreaking.

I was also reading an article about the movie Thirteen in the paper today. It's basically a movie about these 13 year old girls who end up in sex and drugs etc etc...

WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO???

Just goes to show two things:
God doesn't tell you to do things randomly. When he says "sex only in marriage"...it's to protect you, not because he's trying to spoil the fun. There is always a reason. When I look at those kids...I just pray for the kids in DIG#C that God would spare them from the pain caused by sex in the wrong context.

The world needs Jesus and His love. If only these kids knew that there's someone (and not just anyone but the creator of the world!) who loves them so much that He would die for them...who knows them inside out and loves them for who they really are...God, the world would be a different place.
