The best time to blog (again)
Per last post, I'm now procrastinating from drafting that statement of claim (following on from that letter of advice I was talking about doing last week).
Week has been relaxingly non-busy. 5:30 has been the latest I've been at the office, and I've put in my first 37.5 hour timesheet for the new financial year! I've spent most of the week doing fruitless research, fruitful research, and (predominantly, I might add) fiddling with diagrams representing superannuation governance structures (I might also add I know NOTHING about such structures. Oh well!). On Friday we started drinking at 4:30 (5 bottles of champers on the partners for "our hard work"), which prompted Roz, on finding me away from my desk, to comment "Don't tell me you've started drinks already!!". It's boring at the time when I have nothing to do at work, but on reflection, it leaves my mind pleasantly uncluttered with work stuff. And they still pay me =).
We made an offer on an apartment this week. Got (predictably) knocked back. I like this place! We went back there today to re-inspect it, but got stuck at the intersection of Fullers Rd and Pacific Hwy for about 10 minutes, and ultimately when we got there, the agent was taking down his signs and leaving. Gah! The owner's counter-offer wasn't much of a counter-offer....I hate all this tactical bargaining that goes on. I have no idea how to negotiate it all. I wish you could just buy these things like you buy stuff in the supermarket! But anyway, don't know what's going to happen with it. I don't want to get too emotionally involved with it, just in case it doesn't go ahead (and at this stage, who knows if it will...more probably not, really.)
Bf wants to buy a $700 coffee machine. I would have thought that for that price, it's one of those ones where you press a button and out comes your choice of espresso drink, but obviously not! (Does anyone else think it's a lot of money for a machine that does essentially the same thing as a $200 one does?) Mieh. I think I'm missing some of the subtleties here.
My blog is boring. I talk about work and house hunting, and other associated relationship issues. Unfortunately I don't have anything to spruce it up with at the moment! Oh well, better luck next read.
(Oh actually, I watched a lecture on why a literal interpretation of Genesis is necessary for the existence of the whole Christian faith. Not that I'm particularly anti-creationist, or pro-evolutionist, but the argument itself wasn't convincing to me. And the dude had a funny beard...like, it went up onto his actual cheeks!)
