Overheard on the train this morning

Two standard corporate type people were talking about Christmas on the train this morning, and the conversation went something like this:

Person A: ....Christians are always trying to hijack it.
Person B: Mmmm...I think it's some American tradition...
Person A: Oh, really?
Person B: Yeah....but anyway....Christmas is nice.....so....is K-Mart open late tonight?

My heart broke listening to them. To think that God's biggest gift to humanity has been devalued to the point where it's some "American tradition".
