Non-consumption remorse

I don't know if it's just me, but at the time I'm eating a particularly yummy meal and I really couldn't stomach another bite, I'm happy to leave food on my plate.

BUT...

The next day, or some period of time later, I'll think back to that meal (usually when I'm hungry...like now...[insert tummy rumble]) and think, "Dammit, why did I NOT finish that meal! I really feel like some of that now!" I call it Non-consumption remorse (kind of like buyer's remorse, hehe). The longest duration of non-consumption remorse so far is a meal consisting of a fluffy HUGE omelette with prawns on a fittingly HUGE bed of rice with oyster sauce I had back when Roz and I were in Melbourne (so what's that...3-4 months ago!). Damn it was good.

I was on the brink of feeling non-consumption remorse from last night's superlative Father's Day Indian dinner (the food was so good that my parents started talking to each other again...about how good the food was!), then I realised

I have the left-overs for lunch today!

I had a "food" moment that reminded me of you, em! I ate a sausage roll with BBQ sauce outside in the cold after a really tiring day at work.

It was sooooooo good. I don't normally eat sausage rolls (I don't even like them that much) but it was such comfort food, I think because it reminded me of being little and eating sausage rolls at recess during winter.

And I didn't even care how fattening it was - it was worth every calorie!
