Hello,

Sitting here before I return to my books (argh!) nursing my new-found addiction to Mother Earth Cinnamon flavoured Apple chips...

Over lunch which I just had, I saw some video clips of note on Channel V:

1) Guy Sebastian's Angels Brought Me Here: What a stupid stupid clip. I guess they only had half a day to film it...but still! It's dreadful. They might as well have done one of those budget clips, a la Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's One Sweet Day, which wouldn't have even required a set. It's basically a clip of them filming the clip...Guy sits on some boxes while the set staff move equipment and backdrops. There are some random soft focus shots of a chick who looks like Jennifer Love Hewitt- and I mean RANDOM because in a full body shot, she's wearing this strange white feather suit- I guess she must be the 'angel'. At the modulation, they cut to Guy in a white suit on a stage. Then they cut back to him on the boxes. I remember seeing them film Shannon's clip which looked like he was standing against a Matrix-esque background of falling green columns of letters. It looked a lot better! I guess the producers figured they didn't need to be particularly snazzy with the clip because people will love it anyway because he's the Australian Idol, and because the single is going to be number one anyway. Hrm.

2) Christina Aguilera's Fighter: This was the first time I'd seen it. How bizzare...what is she supposed to be?? A giant voo-doo doll? A person with a giant black pincushion stuck to her back??? And what's with the close up shots of her eye with different colours of mascara on?? And why is she stuck to a wall during the "How could this man I thought I knew/Turn out to be..." bit??? Strange strange strange.

Finally,
3) Powderfinger's Sunset: It was really cute- basically a cartoon with subtitles. I thought the animation was similar to that of the South Park animators. But it was an ancient Chinese story about these 10 sons who reek havoc on the world because of this evil king...or something like that. Anyway, it was cute, and miles ahead of the other two!!

Aaaanywayz, I've spent way way way too long on this one chapter of International Banking already cause I was mucking around with the virtual drum machine las night (it's really cool...but I'm hopelessly inept at funky beats- the straight 4 ones I've done have sounded passable at any rate!) and I wrote another song which I haven't properly recorded yet. I've recorded the vocal, so I think it's out of my system for now.

Work ahoy!!

bye bye xx
