Mayer Love
After I saw him live last year, I suffered from a severe depletion of John Mayer Love because the show was pretty aaaaaverage. (Stupid Come Back to Bed, =p.)
However, having acquired the limited edition live CD (get it if you can, it's sooooo good!), I'm experiencing a Mayer Love surge! Dammit, he is such a brilliant song writer. Incredibly witty and insightful, and the music really complements the lyric. So on the way to work this morning, I was mulling over my favourite pieces of his lyrics and came up with this (bits in bold are those I really like, the other bits are context):
"We bit our lips/ She looked out the window/ Rolling tiny balls of napkin paper/ I played a quick game of chess/ with the salt and pepper shaker..." - My Stupid Mouth
"She thinks I can't see the smile that she's faking/ And poses for pictures that aren't being taken..." - Comfortable
"I know a girl/ she puts the colour inside of my world/ But she's just like a maze/ where all of the walls all continually change.." - Daughters
I wish I was that poetic! Oh well...

O, I like that one too...
I didn't like 3X5 that much, but on this live CD, he did a version with just him and guitar which has gone some way in converting me!
O, I feel the Mayer Love bug...hahahaha
