The sense of humour of a 14 year old...
Lately, I've been slightly disturbed at how warped my sense of humour is. Seriously, it's akin to that of a 14 year old.
For example, I found myself still laughing uproariously at the memory of our year...10? 11? version of 'The Farmer in the Dell' which went something like:
"*insert normal song up til...*
The cheese stands alone! The cheese stands alone! Heigh-ho the merry-o, the cheese stands alone!
I am the cheese! I am the cheese! Heigh-ho....
The cheese is me! The cheese is me! Heigh-ho...."
There might have been more but it escapes me.
Anyways, I found myself laughing and laughing at it the other day...it's just so random and hilarious!
There are heaps of other occasions- laughing at our fed con lecturer's huuuuge gut... then writing stories about his huge gut (and yes, the gut talked in them! hehe)... chuckling to myself because I managed to think up a clean lyric for Pink's 'Last to Know' that involved a 'silly duck' (as opposed to a 'stupid f***')(hehehe, yes I know, I'm brilliant!)...I'm sure that if anyone is reading who knows me half well can think of heaps more...
This realisation is somewhat disconcerting! As a would-be corporate lawyer (choke) I'm supposed to have a cultivated and refined sense of humour...it's just SO not me. Argh- I'm just not grown up in so many ways. And yet, most of the time I wouldn't have it any other way. O well.
