I'm in the midst of frantic searching for cases to add to the ground of appeal that I'm drafting to hand in (hopefully tomorrow!), but I am annoyed enough to post this now.

Have you ever gone out of your way to catch up with someone you haven't spoken to in a while, and then found that they are just NOT interested in catching up with you at all?? It's not that I particularly care if they care what's going on in my life - I mean, I was the one who burst onto their scene wanting to know how they were, and just because I was thinking of them, doesn't mean they automatically have to think of me! It's just that the whole exercise becomes rather fruitless if there isn't a mutal sharing of what's been up, and comes to resemble an interrogation with one party (namely me) firing all the questions, and the other person giving answers, without also assisting in lubricating the conversation! One-sided conversations aren't fun.

And then add to that the fact that they just don't appear to care about you at all, (when really, all it takes to APPEAR to care- even if you couldn't give a crap- is to say "Oh, how are you doing?", then proceed to tune out if you don't really care), and it just amounts to a general feeling of "Why bother?".
