Dilemma of the day

I realise this blog must be getting awfully boring with the amount of work related matters I'm covering...but the sad fact of the matter is that that's all my life amounts to at the moment! =p

Anyway, dilemma of the day is this: in a company with an "open door policy", what does one do when confronted with a closed door??

I walked over to the partner's office to give him something I'd been working on, and almost ran headlong into the closed door, so used was I to it being open. So what do I do?? Do I knock? Then I thought that perhaps the closing of the door is an indication NOT to knock because they don't want to be disturbed.

Well, knowing me, I did not knock, but I sidled back here to ask cyberspace what I should do (surely that's telling of something). It's almost lunch anyway!
